Chronic Renal Failure in Cats

Maintaining proper nutrition

Chronic renal failure is a leading cause of disease in older cats. As cats age, the kidneys begin to lose the ability to maintain normal renal filtration of waste products. Several laboratory values increase including the BUN (blood urea nitrogen). As the BUN continues to increase, the impaired kidneys are further damaged. Azodyl helps reduce the BUN and reduces the pressure on the kidneys. In time, many of these cats begin to lose weight due the kidney disease and lack of appetite. CliniCare RF, a feline liquid diet, is designed for cats in renal or kidney failure. CliniCare RF is a formulated as a complete and balanced tasty palatable liquid to meet the needs of an adult cat. Many of these cats will lap Clinicare readily when they will not eat anything else. Clinicare RF can also be fed with a feeding syringe.
